Delay Repay for revised Sunday Service on Weekday?

I claimed delay repay from Southern Rail for the strike days last month, but the days in between were running a Sunday service from my station, meaning the earliest I could get to work would have been around 11.45am. I tried to claim for these days as well as it wasn't realistic for me to come in that late. I input the time my train usually leaves, but was told no train could be found at that time (obviously because they were running a severely reduced service). Am I therefore not able to claim compensation for days when a service is running that is clearly not suitable for a normal commute?

            What ticket do you hold?
You can only apply for delay repay where you catch a service which is then delayed. Be careful applying delay repay for services you didn't catch (whether they exist or not) as it is potentially fraudulent.
If you abandoned your journey a refund should be possible for a pre purchased ticket including season tickets. You claim from the retailer, which may or may not be the train company.1 -
Did you have a ticket for the days you are referring to, where the trains didn’t run till later?
If not, then I don’t think you can claim for a train you might have bought a ticket for in other circumstances, but didn’t this time round, can you?All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
I have an annual season ticket for this route so I have tickets that cover the the day in question. Technically there's been no cancellation, but they are running a service I can't realistically use to get to work so I had to drive.0
