Free PC to landline
Hello! This is my first post, as I have patently lurked for long enough. I came across the website of the Gizmo Project today, and if I am reading this correctly, aren't they saying that you can call PC to landline for free without any set-up charges etc...? There are obvious riders - to quote: 'Callers are encouraged to…

International calls not covered by the Telephone Preference Service?
Just recently I have had to fend off stacks of calls from Timeshare companies enquiring whether my timeshare is still up for sale. I do have a timeshare, but have never offered it up for sale and I don't know who can have passed on my details. Only my timeshare membership company know I have it and they have never passed…

Feedback when replacing the receiver
Hello I’m not sure if anyone can help with this but when we replace any of the telephone handsets back towards the base we get a loud whistle (feedback). The telephones are all corded and have mirco filters fitted as we also have broadband on the line. It’s probably down to poor quality extension wiring, but just wondering…

After many, many problems with BT Broadband it was somewhat of a relief to have them resolved to my complete and utter satisfaction after a couple of months of back and forth. Happy as Larry I managed to have a grand total of ONE stress-free week. I received a call on my landline from someone I have NEVER given the number…

18185 alter prices to NGN 0845/0870 numbers.
I see that 18185 have changed their prices to 0845/0870 numbers and introduced 6am to 6pm and 6pm to 6am time bands for them. 0845 (Old) P.3p.E.1p. W.1p. (New) 6am to 6pm.3p. 6pm to 6am.0.5p.Weekends 0.5p. (So a price reduction at Offpeak and Weekends makes them the cheapest at moment at these times of the week). 0870…

On the websites both claim to be 0p per min but the tariff message says 1p for 1899 and 2p for 18866, it said 0p/min yesterday aswell. They have always said to believe the tariff announcement. Beware, it…

0844 numbers and quickdial
I used to be with Onetel and used 1899 for my cheap calls to abroad and mobiles. I could pre-programme the whole of a favourite number(together with the prefix) into my phone's memory button and then just use the memory store to make a call. I've now converted to TalkTalk and since I've been unbundled(painful!!) I can't…

BT Option 1
BT seem to be sneaking in a line rental price increase of £5.25 per quarter wef 1st October for those of us who use Option 1 for line provision, but prefer to route calls via another provider. Their "justification" is the provision of Caller Display as part of the standard package. I do not require Caller Display, nor do I…
