Hi lightways,
You might get more help with this on the Telephones Board, so I'll move your thread over there.

Sorry, can't help with a cheaper way of calling (such numbers are supposed to justify their Premium Rate charges by providing value-added services) but you can at least find out how much it would cost by checking the number out in the BT price list for specialised numbers.lightways wrote:any one know of any access numbers so as to reduce the bill of having to call an 09012 number?
Beware though - in the case of 0901 2x numbers, the cost will depend on the 6th digit of the number.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
What company is it? - you may find, similar to 0870 numbers, there are alternatives. I've had all 09 numbers blocked by BT (teenage son 'accidentally dialled one of these & cost a small fortune) so I'm stuck if I ever want to vote for Big Brother (BooHoo!!), but I figure that the majority of these numbers are for the company's benefit & not mine, so if they need me to contact them there must be an alternative.0
