0845 Numbers - is there a cheaper way of calling?

is there a cheaper way of calling 0845 no's from a BT line. Others site members have suggested the very useful call1899 etc but none of these seem to discount 0845's.

    Yes, there are five (0844) dial-through providers which'll save you a third on BT's weekday peak rate of 3p - see the MSE UK Callchecker.

    Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

    No 18185 are cheaper at the moment at half a pence a minute,Evenings and Weekends.(4p connection)
