pensioner power
As I get older I can see that the older generations have a lot of living to do and will have a bigger and bigger say in society. And they should do - they have the most life experience and they have the time and skills to use the Internet to lobby for change - just look at WASPI which is really getting heard and have…

My parents' house in Scotland has become unoccupied since my father passed away and my mother moved into a care home earlier this year. Elderly parents' partial equity release
Quite some time ago my elderly parents did a partial equity release on their home. As is often the case, it was not a good deal, but that's another story! They were advised by the solicitor at the time to do their wills, but they didn't. They are now in their 90s and I've been trying to persuade them to do wills for about…

Freezing meals for elderly
My Mum in law does not cook for herself anymore, and I started freezing dinners for her, but now that is more or less the only dinners she eats. Trouble is I was freezing them in special Sisterna freezer to microwave plates with covers, but they take up a lot of room in her freezer. Are there any plates I can get that can…

What do you do all day?
I'm not sure whether to ask this on here or on an unemployment thread as the question would be the same! But the work is so flexible I find I have a huge amount of time on my hands now…

Pensioners' patchwork income
Now that I'm deemed to be a fully-fledged pensioner at last (ie reached that revised State Pension Age of mine finally) - I think I've worked out all the constituent parts of my income okay. It gets confusing when income isn't just coming in from one source (ie a salary payment every month into the bank). So - have I got…
