Care Home fees with long term hospital stay

Options
My mother in law is in a care home, part funded by the Council and then gets topped up by herself.

However she fell ill last Monday and the doctors were finally called on the Friday. Long story short, Kidney infection with septicemia. She is now in hospital and they are giving her "end of life care".

Will the full fees be payable still? (Yes I appreciate they still have costs to pay etc)

Do we need to inform the Council ?
Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!

I'd ask the care home: if it's certain she won't be returning to the care home, then they should be able to advise who needs to be told.

We can't read the care home contract you signed. What does it say?

As long as they are keeping her room for her, yes she will need to keep her contribution going. If there is any chance she may recover and need to return to the care home then it would be best not to give that place up.
