Disposal of heating oil
I've recently got rid of an old oil tank and drained about 75 litres of kerosene from it. It's probably not good enough to re-use. Anyone have any ideas on how I could get rid of it - properly! I'm in Bangor area.

Teacher voluntary pay cut
Hi, I'm a substitute teacher in Northern Ireland and have been for 10 years now. During this time I have moved to the top of the pay scale through annual progression. However, due to the budgetary difficulties faced in the public sector recently, I have found that I have become too expensive for schools to hire me. I have…

Hi all Our 3yo has recently been allocated a place at a local pre school from September 2017, for the funded 15 hours a week. Possible to have old gas pipe reduced?
Many older houses in Belfast will have originally have had a gas meter under the stairs. These were removed in 1980s, and the gas pipe under the stairs capped. This means there's an old capped gas pipe (from the original Belfast gas network) under the stairs protruding perhaps 30cm up from the floor. Very inconvenient, as…

How much gas do you use a year?
We're going to get gas installed soon and are struggling to decide between a prepayment meter or a credit meter. With SSE: The pay and go rate is 3.693p per kWh And their domestic tariff is: 5.445p for the first 2,000 kWh and then 3.732p for anything over 2,000 kWh. So I'd need to use 7000 kWh or more a year to make the…

Anyone here in Northern Ireland been successful in opening an M&S account?
I have successfully switched to every account offering a bonus but M&S. They have been the only bank to reject me and my wife. I then heard from a friend that he too was rejected. I've started to wonder if perhaps they simply don't want Northern Irish customers? Has anyone been successful in getting an account with them?
