My brother has asked my mum to babysit his daughter (10months) on Saturday from 1pm until the next day. We had plans to go on a day trip to the…

DIY Wedding Invites
Hi All, Just wondering if anybody can recommend any websites to buy DIY Wedding invite kits from? Don't fancy paying a company to do these for us as we are both quite art and crafty people so fancy doing these ourselves, and also to save a bit of money. Anybody got any recommendations that do a large variety of styles??…

Potty Training Advice
Just after a little bit of potty training advice please. I've been reading my 2 year old 'Pirate Pete' (potty training story) and have dabbled with having his nappy off, having the potty out but more of a 'we're outside so shall we just see what happens' way. This morning I asked my son if he wanted to wear big boy pants…

Money to help daughter buy first home
I want to help my daughter with a deposit for her first home. However, I understand I can only gift her a maximum of £6,000 without tax implications. Is there any other way I can help her with up to, say, £15,000? (Bear in mind that even if I pop my clogs within 7 years, my estate is not likely to top £200,000.)

Absurd financial demands from ex-fiancee
Hi, My fiancee left me a few weeks ago. Terrible shock, but I was determined to win her back. What she did last week, with the help of her cretinous father, has made sure I have no desire to be with her again. I received this: The background is that when she moved into my flat three years ago, I was a bit skint and so we…

Wedding hotel terms and conditions
My daughter has booked a hotel for a wedding next year and paid a deposit of £750. She has been given a contract to sign and I am not happy with the wording. The hotel is a medium size non chain hotel. In the contract it says that the hotel has no liability if the wedding cannot take place due to circs beyond their control…

Your Before Sunrise/Before Sunset moments
I watched Before Sunrise again yesterday – it really has to be my favourite film of all time. For anyone who hasn’t seen it it was made in 1995 and stars Ethan Hawke as an American student who is on a train back to Vienna where he will fly home the next day to the USA. He randomly bumps into Julie Delpy on the train as she…
