Desperate for baby number 3 but worried about money!

Hi,

Myself and my husband are both desperate for another baby. We currently have two children and I've always wanted three. I had a difficult pregnancy with my second child and she was not a very settled baby so I've actually been content with the two up til recently! However over the last six months I have grown increasingly desperate to try for baby number 3.

My husband works full time and I'm self-employed. This is mainly what worries me! We have a decent income now after a few years building up my business and are slowly paying off our debts and putting aside an emergency fund. I'm worried that I will lose my customers during a pregnancy which will mean we go back to no money to pay anything off.

I know some people will say stick to two children and be happy with hat you've got. Don't get me wrong I'm very happy and know how lucky I am. But you can't turn off this yearning! I know that when I'm old and grey I will regret not having another child. I actually am thinking I may want 4 :rotfl:

I don't really know what I'm asking, I just need somewhere to vent.

I also have an overbearing father who already completely disapproves of the way I live my life and makes me feel as though I'm about 12so this would tip that relationship over the edge too!

While you still have debts, it doesn't make sense to sabotage your means of paying them off.

Why don't you set a goal to pay off your debts and then start trying? Does this sound like a plan that would suit you both? Then there is less pressure on your business.

How desparate are you both? Desparate enough to bring up three children on the bread line?

Would you "buy" an expensive new car?

Hmm yes Errata quite possibly! Children don't actually cost that much, particularly in my line of work, I have everything I need and no need for childcare.

Yes mrrcow at the moment we are ploughing everything into paying debts off and I think we will spend the rest of the year doing that before trying.

Mojisola, emotions overule I think when it comes to having children, that's the problem!

What is the purpose of your thread? You already seem to have made up your mind up to have another child no matter what.

Well that's basically what you're doing.

    What are your debts from?

No I haven't made up my mind, was only after opinions/experiences I guess.

How is having a baby the same as buying an expensive car?
