Removal of LPG tank at purchased property
Hello, We recently purchased a property that has an LPG tank that we do not use. The LPG supplier is putting pressure on us to enter into a contract with them although we said that we want them to remove the tank from our property. They was to charge us £1000 to remove it, although we do not have a contract with them and…

Propane gas home delivery.
I have had an underground lpg tank for 28 years. The current supplier is Flogas with a now out of contract supply agreement. I still get tank standing charges, but the consumption of gas is now only about 200litres a year. They refuse to supply less than 900 litres per delivery. To get out of the contract they require the…

Beware Boiler Juice
"You pay £286.25" says the email in bold orange type, echoing the heating oil price quoted on Boiler Juice's website quotation a few minutes before. But wait a minute. The website quotes a price of 52.24 per litre. Now my maths can be shaky at times but 500 x 52.24 doesn't make £286. Is it the extra a VAT charge? No. It's…

Free solar panels + birds nesting
Hi my parents had free solar panels done via ashadegreener some 4-5 years ago. The guttering by the panels have accumulated gigantic bird nests + lots of dropped pigeon eggs/dead chicks on the patio as well as a line of bird droppings. Now with the gutter getting blocked its getting quite troublesome. I've wrote to…

"Standard heating oil + additives" vs "Premium heating oil"
The premium sales text has buzzwords like * Clean & safe for domestic storage * Improved efficiency vs other fuel types * Clean & hot burn for efficient fuel * Reduces tank sludge build up * Cleaner burn, reducing emissions * Longer lasting for optimum economy I've just put some Hydra Vulcan additive into some standard…

Do the ultrasonic level meters ever go wrong?
I moved into this property in Oct 24 - the LCD level meter was at 80%. I've checked every week or so, the LCD bar level meter hasn't changed-which I was pleased about. I've just stuck a twig into the ultrasonic hole access in the tank (I wanted to swirl the water (oil) to get some heating oil cleaner additive mixed up),…

Are there delivery problems right now?
I am overdue a heating oil delivery from Goff by 3 days now, and am getting very concerned I'll run out of fuel. They say there are problems at the depot but can't give me a firm delivery date. Is this an industry wide issue? I am in Kent

Comparing two properties - to move or not to move
We are currently in a grade 1 listed cottage, which is small, but has single-glazing and no woodburner. The cottage is solely electric and we have storage heaters, in the winter our bills are up to £400. It's horrible, we're with EDF and no other provider will touch us because they say our meter is complex (I've tried many…

thermostat question
Recently had new combi boiler installed with ESI thermostat controlling the system. I find when the boiler reaches the desired temperature it can take quite awhile before it shuts off and by the same token when the temperature drops, it can take a long time before the boiler kicks in. Is this normal?

Thermostat swap danfoss
I have danfoss tpone-m two zone thermostats in my home but they do not have access to the Mobile app. I want to get access to the app and wondered if it’s as simple as swapping out the old thermostats for newer. Danfoss tpone-s thermostats for example. Or do I need additional changes to make the app available (receivers)?…

Calor gas storage
I purchased a property last year that has underground 4 gas tanks supplying 4 apartments facing me. The tanks are clearly marked on my land in the deeds but calor gas are saying that in order to remove them the apartments would have to agree to get another gas supplier fitting directly. During the purchase of the property…

Oil Combi Boilers?
Hi, Anyone offer any advice on how good oil combi boilers are? We have a standard Grant oil boiler with a vented tank. It works well but there quite a few downsides I would love to get rid of: > The cyclinder takes up a lot of room in the bathroom. > The loft space is too small to house cold water header tanks so they are…

Ideal Logic Combi boiler 9 years old - 1 year service or full strip down service
Hi, my Ideal Logic E530 combi boiler is due its annual service. It is 9 years old and is serviced yearly. One company has suggested that as it is over 6 years old if it has a full strip down service (costing £150) it will mean the boiler lasts longer. I wondered whether it would be advisable please to have this done, or…

Barclays
I have recently been offered a financial settlement from Barclays finance for a mis sold loan on a RHI biomass heating system. This system has been deemed inappropriate for my house so the loan by Barclays is classed as mis sold . Should I except their first offer or could I, should I ask for more ? Be interesting to see…
