AvantiGas - Non Compliant illegal in-ground tank

Moving into this property I found myself with an existing non-compliant LPG tank which by being UK non-compliant (it is in the EU), is unsafe and illegal to
have on my premises.Because if this, I am unable to transfer to any other LPG supplier. As soon as I mention my current supplier is AvantGas, they automatically refuse to take the tank over.
Both
LiquidGas UK and AvantiGas admit that this model tank is
non-compliant but they state it is safe to use as per a safety
certificate issued last year from a third party, but this only warrants AvantiGas, it does not protect me.
They say I am free to switch suppliers and obtain a compliant tank from
them, but obviously at my expense. Since AvantiGas owns and
continues to use this UK non-compliant tank, I want them at their expense to change my tank to one that is compliant, safe and therefore legal.
As
it now stands I am bound to AvantiGas in a monopolistic fashion without the
ability to transfer suppliers allowing them to charge as they please. I am currently paying more than any other supplier's quotes.
Is anyone else in this monopolistic situation and if so how did you free yourself from them?

Your current tank belongs to AvantiGas. A replacement tank will belong to your new supplier.Have you actually received a quote from a different supplier to fit a compliant tank and supply you?N. That is correct, and yes I have received quotes from several suppliers. It makes no difference to me who owns the tank as long as the new tank is compliant.0

Do you have any update on this problem as I find myself in a similar situation with Avanti and can't switch away from them because no one will take on the existing tank and no one seems inclined to help by offering to install a compliant one. Like you say, the tank does not belong to me but without a compliant tank I'm snookered!
