LISA withdrawal fee - how does it work?
Does anyone have experience of withdrawing money from a LISA and/or could confirm my understanding of how this works - if I needed to withdraw some money prior to the age of 60 (saving for retirement not house purchase). My understanding from an MSE article is that you (may?) lose money if you withdraw money before age 60…

Opening an online accoount
I have tried to open an account for a fixed rate ISA with Metro. I downloaded the app and managed to open a current account (bit of a faff). When I clicked on opening an ISA account it cannot be opened online, I have to visit a store. My nearest store is 134 miles from home. Do all ISA'S have to be opened in a branch?

Fixed isa ending and won’t transfer in time
Hi. Sorry if this has been asked, I searched for fix ending and got about 1000 hits mostly on mortgages though. I’ve got a 1 year fix isa ending next Friday. I want to transfer to a new company but it won’t transfer in time. The current company does not offer normal isa’s, only fixed. What will happen to my money when the…

Maturing Fixed Rate Isa
I have a Fixed Rate Isa Maturing on 31/12. Do I have to wait for this to actually mature before starting a transfer process or can I do it in advance stating a date for the transfer to be done. I’m sure this has probably been asked before but I have looked and could not find a straight forward answer. First time I’ve had a…

West Brom Websave ISA transfer nightmare
Wondering if anyone else has had the hell I am going through. I chose to move my life savings from a S&S ISA to a cash ISA. I chose West Brom Websave as they allowed the transfer in and had the best interest at the right time. That was in early August. There were delays while they processed my request and while they made…

Stocks and Shares ISA to Fixed ISA
HiI have a Vanguard Lifestrategy 60 S&S ISA. It's been pretty flat for a while so I'm thinking of moving to a fixed rate cash ISA. Not all Fixed Rate ISA allow a transfer in, could I transfer it to an easy access ISA and then to the Fixed rate ISA? The S&S ISA isn't a new ISA.TIA

Help To Buy ISA transfer / partial withdrawal
I have Help to Buy ISA from previous years (with Halifax, if that matters), i.e. no contributions this year apart from interest payments. It is about £15k, and government bonus is paid only on £12k, so essentially £3k is not doing much as I'd earn bigger interest elsewhere. I know that if I transfer these extra £3k into…

The cash LISA is a sham product
It's deeply concerning that people are using this product to save for their first home and the banks are taking advantage of the LISA rules, which as Martin Lewis himself recently pointed out, are extremely unfair terms to the customer. Banks have realised that savers who took out the product from inception, are likely to…

Barclays 2 year flexible cash ISA - 4.10% Sense check
Hindsight's a wonderful thing! Too late now, but looking at some figures and some quick calcs, I think I would have been better off if I was top of things a few months ago! Juts like to see if I'm on the right track ... sense-checking. With the Barclays 2yr ISA paying 4.10% opened back in Jan 2023 with approx £47500, it'd…

Looking at opening a ISA
Having watched the programme and read lots on the forum I'm going to open a fixed cash ISA asap. As I understand it you can invest a maximum of £20k in a financial year in a cash ISA? I'll be looking for the best rate of interest as part of the criteria but after 12mths on most deals that rate drops so I would then be…

Aldermore and missing refund.
On 21st November my current ISA provider, AJ Bell, sent a £50,000 transfer to Aldermore for a fixed term ISA. It was sent via BACs. A week later Aldermore told AJ Bell that the banking reference they had given was incorrect and the payment bounced. Allegedly it is being paid back to AJ Bell. But it hasn't and AJ Bell…

Fixed term savings tax implications.
Hi, just a quick question before I start diverting my savings into accounts. I earn over £17,751 so I know I’m allowed £1000 tax free in savings. now if I open 3 different savings accounts and max out what I need to do so I don’t go over £1000 in savings after the term has ended that would be 3K tax free in savings? or do…

Nominated account.
Anyone else had experience of the default nominated account when applying for a new ISA? We wanted the annual interest to be paid into our nominated bank accounts. On every…

Fixed Term ISA Monthly Interest Tax?
I have a Fixed Term ISA, and opted to get the interest paid monthly into my current account, so I can then transfer it into a savings account, in order to benefit from monthly compound interest. My question is, does this interest become taxable, as it has left the ISA?
