Regular Savings account to Cash ISA
I have funds in an ordinary savings account which is now attracting yearly interest payments in excess of £1000. I need to transfer this account to a Cash ISA so I'm not paying tax on the interest over my PSA limit. But is there an efficient way of doing this in one go, or am I limited to withdrawing/transferring £20k at a…

Child Trust Fund due to mature
Hi, my son is turning 18 in October and we received the £250 trust fund money that we have been adding to each month since he was born. He'd like to put a large chunk of what the fund is worth in a savings or ISA type account (would be approx £7k), does anyone know of any good options for this?

Paragon Defined Access ISA vs Fixed Rate ISA why the higher rate?
Can anyone explain why the Defined Access ISA's have a higher rate than a fixed rate one? Is it simply that they hope people will fall into the trap of making more than a couple of withdrawals? Obviously the rate difference isn't much but you'd assume a fixed rate would be higher. Thanks

Small time players with higher rates - any good?
Hi, I'm in need of changing my ISA to improve on my interest rate. Are smaller players like Chip and Plum any good or am I letting myself in for a world of pain? Of the bigger players, I've had negative experience with Virgin before, so would only leave Leeds BS, but 0.5% lower than Chip. Feedback welcome (google isn't…

What is more tax efficient, Cash ISAs or S&S ISAs?
I hope someone can help me better understand this. Conscious that the annual 20K limit applies to the sum of money contributed to cash and S&S ISAs together, and being in the lucky position of having the 20K available, I have been wondering for a while whether to stick to just having Cash ISAs, or whether I should allocate…

accidentally maxed out my ISA for a couple of hours forgetting I need to allow for LISA, consequence
I accidentally maxed out my current years ISA for a couple of hours forgetting I need to allow for LISA. I then realised my mistake and withdrew 4k from the ISA. Will that affect my LISA? This all happened intra day, so I am hoping reporting is done at the end of the day and there wont be any issues. My ISA and LISA are…

Paying in more than £20k into an ISA - Bad idea?
So i've paid £20k into an ISA already this year. The rate on the ISA is roughly the same as current savings accounts. Would it be a bad idea to pay another £10k into that ISA? Any downsides vs paying it into a savings account?

Maxed Cash ISA, next option?
I currently have the full amount for the year in a cash ISA, I have the full amount in Premium Bonds and I am now at my limit of £500 a year interest in savings. What is my option for remaining savings that would be the most tax efficient so that I am not getting taxed on my regular savings above £500?
