Issue transferring out of Post Office ISA
I'm now on my third refusal by Post Office Savings to transfer my ISA funds to Zopa, first off they said it was subject to a fixed term agreement (it wasn't, it is in the Instant Access pot), then they claimed Zopa had refused the transfer and now they are saying that they can't transfer electronically to Zopa. Has anyone…

Some complete newbie questions about ISAs
How do ISAs work when your savings reach the yearly limit? Say i invested 20K in a cash ISA. What happens to the interest earned from it? Does it go back into the pot and that then goes for the following year or are you forced to take it? Also say i invested 20K in 2024/2025 ISA, what happens to that 20K for 2025/2026…

What to do with maxed out isa interest
Hi. I have one ISA that I maxed out last year (£20,000). It will have earned £1000 in interest by the time it is due to end. Am I best to leave the £21000 in the same ISA or should I transfer it if there is a better deal elsewhere. If I do transfer it - can I only transfer £20,000? If so, what is the best thing to do with…

Duplicate Fixed Rate Cash ISAs from same provider in same year
Hi, I save money for my Grandsons (2) for when they are adults. I don't want them to have access to these savings until they are over 18yrs (potentially mid 20's) and therefore the savings are in my name alone. They are different ages so I started saving for them at different times in different accounts, resulting in a…

LISA for an over 40
Hi, I was one of those who was under 40 when LISAs were released (so opened one with the princely sum of £1.00 while I had the opportunity), but time passed and now over 40! When they started very few were competitive, most did not allow transfers above the age of 40 etc. Hence, who is providing the best LISA rate that…

Recent transfer of Junior ISA
My son has recently turned 18 and his Foresters Junior ISA has been reinvested into an ISA. They have written to him and say he has 30 days to cancel. If he wanted to just withdraw it all into his bank account it says he would be liable for government penalty. Does anyone know how this works? Is it a percentage of the…

Trading 212 security
I opened a cash ISA on Friday via the app and very surprised security in the app seems so poor. It doesn't auto log out & only uses a password. No biometrics or even additional layers of security. I've also got Chase which is essentially the same bank which does have the expected layers of security.

Cash ISA Queries
I have several queries relating to Cash ISAs that I'm hoping someone can help me with. I've been reading online about them today and some of it's very confusing. * If I open a Cash ISA investing £20K, will I ever have to pay tax on this even when the interest goes over £1K annually? * Can I add another £20K to this ISA…

Savings
Hi, I have savings of over £100,000 and I know I am losing money with this just sitting in my bank. What is the best way forward to stop this? Maybe a isa? This is going to be used as a deposit for a flat or house, so I will probably use it between January and July next year. Thanks

Variable or Fixed Rate ISA....that is the question
Hi All, I have a Zopa 1 year Fixed ISA coming to an end this month, so was shopping around for current interest rates, and best ideas. At the moment, variable ISAs are proving to be paying more, but could have the interest rate go up or down through the year Fixed rate ISAs are paying less, but it is Fixed at that rate For…

Flexible ISAs: Current year subscriptions can no longer be replaced in a different ISA
This came up in a thread on the main savings board, but I thought it worthy of its own thread, as several forumites make use of ISA flexibility to move money between their various ISAs and it has been the subject of quite a few threads in the past month or so. Original thread is:…

HMRC rules allowing banks to take up to 15 days to transfer money from an ISA
Castle Trust Bank have told me that HMRC allow them to take 15 working days to transfer a maturing ISA to a new provider and that the maturing ISA will sit in a holding account at 0.01%. Does this allow banks to drag their feet and make money from any maturing ISA? They must be making staggering sums of money from this…
