UBL Cash ISA Void like the plague
On the face of it the interest rates offered by UBL look attractive but that soon fades when you try opening an account & becomes even worse when you speak to a member o their customer service team. Consistency is something that businesses strive for. Well someone needs to tell UBL that being consistently rude &…

Isa Newbie
Hi, I am looking at opening an ISA which is around 3.89% for a year. I'm confused though as the bank states that the last payment to make for the 2024/2025 tax year is 05/04/2025 and the last payment I can make for the 2025/2026 tax year is 09/05/2025. What happens if I open it and make my deposit before the end of the…

Do You Have The Resources To Invest 20,000 Per Year Into An ISA?
With the possibility of the chancellors roll back of the £20,000 p.a ISA allowance, It crossed my mind that this would affect only a tiny fraction of the working population of the UK. So what could she gain by doing this and isnt it an insulting irrelevance to the vast majoirty of Nritish people who at best are living pay…

Last week, probably rushing a little I opened two ISAs - one with Close brothers and one with Gatehouse requesting ISA transfer from Virgin Money. I see that Cynergy now offers considerably better rates so I would like to move the funds to Cynergy as both accounts are still within 14 day cooling off period. How do I do…

Wesleyan with profits ISA losing money
Hello everyone. I'm looking for some advice regarding my Wesleyan stocks and shares ISA. I opened it 5 years ago together with a separate small pension. Both the ISA and the pension lost a lot of money during the pandemic. At the time, I was advised by a financial advisor working for Wesleyan to leave them alone for at…

ISA left with negative balance after transfer
I transferred my Cash ISA from HSBC to Halifax, which was completed today. Now my old HSBC ISA is showing a debit of -£25.66, which is apparently Halifax's fault for transferring a higher amount (I had set the transfer for the full balance). HSBC expect me to transfer £25.66 from my current account to cover the debit but…

Beware 15 working day transfer with no interest
Hello. A problem has surfaced which to my knowledge is not addressed by mse. Whenever you decide to change institution for a better ISA interest rate, the transfer of funds takes up to 15 working days during which no interest is paid either by the last bank and the new one. This dead time amounts to loss of over 0.5%. I'm…

Isa
Hello, I have an Isa (last year and have £20,000 and the rate is 4.75%), and I would like to open another this financial year. I understand I can pay into this Isa with this years allowance and if so, would I get this rate (4.75%), or will the bank pay their current rate which I believe is lower, if I took out a completely…

HSBC to Halifax ISA transfer
Has anyone ever tried transferring a Cash ISA from HSBC to Halifax? I've just done it online and it says it might take between 7 and 15 days. Just keep reading stories online of money being lost in transfer... 😨 P.S. I'm aware both HSBC and Halifax don't currently have the best rates and I'm ok with that.

Paragon Problems!
Having real trouble with an ISA transfer from Paragon to Shawbrook. It’s my first time arranging a transfer. It was first rejected because I clicked “this tax year” rather than “previous tax year”; even though it was “this tax year” when I arranged it in March (but to transfer at maturity in the new tax year!). Lesson…

Close Brothers?
I already have a couple of fixed rate bonds with Close Bros and am considering a 5 year ISA with them - they currently have the best rate. I'm a bit concerned about their potential massive exposure in the car financing case. I realise that the total I would have with them would fall within the £85k Financial Services…

Mature CTF and ISA
Hello My daughter's Child Trust Fund matured a few weeks ago, and we are trying to decide what to do with the money (circa 15k). She has also been given some money (about 10k) by her grandparents which she is planning on putting into an ISA. Is she able to open an ISA while deciding what to do with the mature CTF. Or does…

Using trading 212 for a S&S ISA
Apologies for yet another T212 question. I've got a small amount of money spare each month, so I'm considering opening a T212 S&S ISA. I'm looking at one of their ready made pies as it seems a good place to start for a beginner. I've looked through previous threads about this and bonds and global trackers are mentioned,…

Paragon Bank - Certificates of Interest
I have had a number of accounts with Paragon over the last several years (some ISA, some non-ISA). There appears to be no way of obtaining Certificates of Interest for "closed" accounts (typically these were 1-year saving accounts / bonds). Am I missing something here ?

Fastest transfer table for flexible cash ISA providers
Is there a table which shows how long it takes for different providers to transfer flexible cash ISA's? I've read that some take much longer than the 15 days. With the stock markets tanking following the tariff war I would like to move fast into a stocks and shares ISA but don't want to be in limbo for several weeks.

Trade 212 to Money Box (3 months) then back to Trade 212?
Hello, currently have 20 years of savings in a cash isa with Trade earnng 4.5%. I want to consider moving this to money box at the bonus rate of 5.71% for 3 months, then move it again back to Trade 212. Trade 212 pays daily interest, where as I think MoneyBox will only pay annual interest. I don't want to miss out on the…
