Does re-investing back into another Fixed ISA count towards your annual 20,000 allowance?
Hi all, So my partner has a fixed ISA coming to an end at the end of May 2025. The bank has written to her and the 1st option is to just re-invest and fix it for another year and this is what she would like to do. However, she has already added 4000 into a Lifetime ISA with another bank - last month. So where does they…

Outstanding ISA interest paid to new ISA (both Nationwide)?
I've been helping my Dad with his Cash ISA. He had an existing Cash ISA with Nationwide that Matures on 4th May 2025. It was a Triple Access version which allowed up to 3 withdrawals per year including account closure. So we decided to open a new Cash ISA (still with Nationwide) with the same rate and transferred the…

ISA's stripped of flexible status
Good afternoon, looking at Martin's email yesterday saw Santander as a top ISA from a big name brand however in the t&c it mentions if a flexible ISA is transferred it will lose that possibility, can one transfer it back to say after a year, a flexible ISA with a different provider or is that wrapper status lost for good?

My daughter is in the process of buying her first house, she started a H2B ISA a few years ago and has £8800 in it, not including any bonus, she also started a Lifetime ISA and has maxed that last year and this current year, therefore has £8000 + the £2000 bonus in that one. Not realising that you can’t get the bonus on…

Can I change Cash ISA into Stocks & Shares ISA?
Hello I have two ISAs; Cash ISA and Stocks & Shares ISA. I opened Cash ISA in 2024 financial year and also opened Stocks & Shares ISA in 2025 financial year. Can I change the Cash ISA into a completely new Stocks & Shares ISA w/o sacrificing my tax free amount for 2025 financial year? Thanks.

Moneybox ISA annual interest
Hi, Moneybox ISA is paid annually. But does it compound daily still? MSE doesn't say and neither does the Moneybox website. There's an example calculation on Moneybox which seems to suggest it DOES NOT compound daily. If so, that is worth MSE pointing out as it could be worth quite alot of missed interest.

Stocks and Shares ISA current climate
Hello, I am not wealthy, however was left 20k which I put in a stocks and shares ISA via HSBC. I've lost about £600 which is so disappointing. I appreciate there are risks, but that's a huge % for me. Should I leave it there or take it out? My goal was to keep it saved for 5 years and then update my car and do some home…

Can I use flexible and non-flexible ISAs in this way to maximise allowance?
Hi, hoping someone can help verify my thinking over making the most of my allowance between my flexible (T212) and non-flexible ISAs. I had £40k in T212 and whilst I like the flexibility, the rate is dropping. No deposits made yet this year. I want to lock £10k into Santander 1yr 4.25% + £50 card (effective rate 4.75%) but…

Yorkshire Building Society online - given up!
I have found trying to proceed with opening a Cash ISA with YBS online so frustrating that I have chosen NOT to proceed in the end. Both when opening the account and then attempting to transfer funds in to the account the online forms disappeared mid-process from the screen on a number of occasions. I was left having to…

Trading212 - I wouldn't bother
Just, finally, managed to open a Trading 212 Cash ISA account, what a palava. Mainly in pursuit of their .72% bonus for new customers opening an account through the MSE link. Took ages, taking photographs of self and ID docs etc. Eventually got the account opened, despite being sidetracked to open Stocks/shares ISA, only…

Shepherds Friendly £100pm and ISA allowance
I've only ever owned nationalisation shares, and I'm now dipping my toe into the world of managed stocks and shares funds. Being a cautious investor I thought I would start off with a £100 pm ISA with the 199 year old Shepherds Friendly Society. I realise my investment might have lost value a year from now but there is a…

Trading 212 cash ISA
Shows (early May 2025) as a good rate with a 12 month bonus. After clicking through to their website from MSE was prompted to download their app and completed registration. Moved my existing cash ISA across successfully only then to see that the 12 month bonus had not been applied. Queried with customer service only to be…

Martins trick
I was reading Martin's info regards Flexible cash ISAs and at the end there is a suggestion to beat the system, or rather play the system, of withdrawing your cash, placing into a high interest, non ISA then paying it back into a cash ISA before the end of the tax year. Can someone please explain a little more. I was under…
