Move LISA to SIPP?
Hi all Interested to hear thoughts on closing my LISA, taking the 25% hit and then setting up a SIP where I’ll benefit from 40% uplift as a HRT. I’m 32 and in LGPS. I started a LISA a few years back and currently £20k. Not looking to pay more into LISA as I want the option of taking and semi retiring before 60. I’ll be…

Should I sell my ISA?
Given the extremely grim assessment by US business leaders about Trump's plans for the US economy (i.e. getting rid of federal income tax and imposing tariffs instead) should he win 2024, do you think it would be wise for me to sell the money I've invested in my ISA and pay it into my bank account? And then maybe re-invest…

A cash ISA from 23/24 tax year
I have a cash ISA from 23/24 tax year. Now I have the interest added, can I close and transfer the funds plus interest to a non ISA savings account giving a better rate. Then open a new ISA before April 2025 and use it as a tax free wrapper? Have I understood this correctly? Thank you.

Can I open a second isa?
Just a very quick one. I opened a fixed isa in December 2023 and its for a year as I wanted access to the funds and didn’t want to fix for too long. My other savings are with chase as it’s so easy to have it in one place. I’m getting a decent rate at 5.1% ‘boosted’. I am getting concerned that I may reach over £1000 in…

When to stop paying into kid’s ISA
We are extremely lucky and have been able to save the full kids ISA amount for our son each year so far. He will be ten next year. I know it’s the most tax efficient way of saving but am also increasingly concerned about just how much money he will have available to him at the age of 18. He’s a lovely 9 year old, I can…

Tembo 2.0/Customer Champions?
Anyone else get a email about the new Tembo 2.0 app launch/tester request? Looks like they’re relaunching the app with some new features, including adding multiple accounts. From the email: Since acquiring Nude earlier this year, we've re-launched our market-leading Lifetime ISA, and in the background we've been hard at…

Can I open another ISA in the current tax year and transfer money from the old ISA's into it and thus enjoy…

Should I bother with my Help to Buy ISA or would other investments make sense?
My situation: 28 years old, still living at home, no savings, money is tight, but work (a relatively even split between employed and freelance work in different areas) is slowly building up. My aim for the next six months is to have enough work that brings in around 30k before tax - a combination of work as an employee at…

Putting savings from a joint account into a Cash ISA in my name.
I have a joint current account with my mother which holds around 15k. At the suggestion of my mother, I was added to the account to avoid money being held by the bank, in the event of her death. To give a bit of a back story, when my father passed a few years back, his bank account was frozen for months after his death,…

Core fund for ISA - Vanguard LS 100?
Hi everyone, I had to find a new place for my S&S ISA as my robo advisor exited the UK. I went to a DIY platform and bought Vanguard Lifestrategy 100 fund and have been adding to that fund since. I now am wondering if there is a better alternative core fund to keep for my S&S ISA like the FTSE or MSCI all world index…

Fixed Rate ISA - Interest Paid At Maturity - What Happens If I Take The Money Out Early?
Sorry if there's a thread around here somewhere about this but can't seem to find it, or find an answer in the T&Cs. I'm just curious - I have an ISA that's fixed at a certain APR for 12 months & pays accrued interest at maturity not monthly. The T&Cs say I can take the money out at anytime (there' s a penalty but it's…

Nationwide not setting up ISA's correctly when rolled over online - No Monthly Interest Paid !!
Hi, I have had a number of cash ISAs with Nationwide
which I have rolled over with them for a number of years and have always opted
for "Yearly" interest to be credited at the end of the annual term as
opposed to "Monthly" interest (at a slightly lower rate) credited to
my currently account monthly. For 2024 as the cash…
