Howdens Kitchen
Hi, Have been shopping around for a kitchen, and have ended up at Howdens. We have decided on a true handless kitchen, and have gone to Wickes and Howdens so far. Wickes came out at £9K for cabinets and doors, Howdens are cheaper, but I'm not sure if this is the best price I am likely to get from them, any thoughts?…

Damp "tanking"
The guy we bought our house from was a bit of a DIY-er... After we moved in we realised the reason he freshly painted the extension was to hide a damp problem. Not only that, but a damp tradesman visited today and said the cause of it was the decking he built was higher than the floor of the extension and has suggested we…

£700 loft extension drawings
Hi guys Wondering if the above is fair. The drawings need to be copied from another house down the road (basically tracing paper would do it). £380 to put back two loose roof tiles
I would be very grateful to get some perspective on this. My elderly and recently widowed Mum called me up just now incredibly upset now to talk about what she feels is an exorbitant roofing repair. Last week she had a roofing company out to quote for the following job - 'refix two slipped slate tiles that had begun to…
