Bathroom refurb quote

Based in Scotland and had following quote for bathroom refurb

• Strip out existing wall and floor tiles along with plasterboard.

• Renew all plasterboard to wall and install moisture grade plasterboard.
• Supply and install tongue & groove multipanel boards of customers choice to walls.

• Form new bath panel with matching multipanel.

• Supply and install Upvc white gloss ceiling boards to existing ceiling.

• Supply and install 6mm plywood sub floor along with vinyl click flooring and suitable underlay.

• Supply of required sealants, adhesives & fixings required.





Labour £ 1,200.00
Materials £ 3,005.64 inc vat


Total cost £ 4,205.64 for joiner


Plumbers cost of supplying and fitting a Bathroom Suite to your home would be £1798.60 +£359.72 vat = £2158.32.
This includes for the following specification:
Della Close coupled W.C.
Della Close Coupled Cistern
Della Soft Close Seat
Della Basin & Pedestal
Nuance Double Ended Bath
Nuance Two Taphole Bath Filler
Nuance Mini Mono Basin mixer and click waste

A bit expensive if you ask me especially the plumber

    I don't know. That's really what bathrooms cost when you account for the building work that goes into it, but this isn't really being done for looks and I'd hope to have a few nicer fittings. There's not a lot of point in spending that much if the sanitaryware isn't up to lasting a good few years.

    The plumber actually doesn't seem all that expensive but I'd rarely be charging much less than that for good fittings.

    Tongue and groove PVC on the ceiling? A nice space for black mould to grow behind it (that's all I've found when removing the stuff) and it looks dreadful in a space that should be a sanctuary. Does nothing to solve anything. You're far better off investing in a really good humidity sensing extractor. What's the reason for choosing it?
