Dorma Extension

We've had a quote for a dorma extension. Around 17k which I am happy with but we fear that it may need new floor joists too.
Has anyone ever had this done and know how much it costs? I've been onto to the builder for a quote but just thought I'd ask on here too.

If you mean a Dormer extension, it seems reasonable. Have you tried to get at least 3 separate quotes? If new building might require additional floor joists/support.We've had a quote for a dorma extension. Around 17k which I am happy with but we fear that it may need new floor joists too.
