Quote for moving sockets

Options
I've had a quote for £215 for some minor electrical work. This seems really good to me, but I don't actually have any idea of the going rate so want to check if it's too expense/too cheap.

The work is changing 6 surface-mounted double sockets to flush-fitted, including moving 2 of them slightly, and adding a new double socket (wires to run along the outside of the wall, covered, rather than inside the wall). Walls are all brick, not stud.

What area or county are you in as prices vary.

Is it just the one person you have had come out for a quote? Normally you would have 2 or 3 quotes to see if all the work is the same but just costs different overall.

Good point about location; hadn't thought of that! I'm down in Devon.

I contacted four electricians - one hasn't responded and another made a time to come out but didn't show. Another hasn't come to see the house but quoted £350. That was based on very little information so I was hesitant to trust it. The £215 was from the one electrician who has both responded and actually come round.

I'll get in touch with a few more and see if I can get anyone else to come out. Thanks both.

I don't really think £215 is a realistic price for this. The higher quote is more believable.
