I need an electrician.
I have a 'trip' fuse board and the upstairs lighting circuit occasionally trips for no apparant reason. Where do I start? NO alterations have been carried out except to change a couple of light bulbs a LONG time before this started. i would guess the first thing would be to check tightness of all the switch connections and…

Stench Pipe Question
My stench pipe runs up the corner of the bathroom. A standard length bath fits neatly in my bathroom with a few inches to spare. However, this means that I have to cut a small corner out of the bath to miss the stench pipe. Is there any reason why I can't narrow the stench pipe so it doesn't interfere with the bath? I can…

Pilot light blowing out when its windy
Hiya, Is there anything I can do to stop this, or at least reduce the number of times it does it (it really is constantly when it's windy). My boiler makes a right rackett every time it re-ignites and I should imagine it isn't good for Gas consumption. Also my Son's (he is 2) room is right next door and it always wakes him…

Grants for heating when not on benefits
There seems to be a lot of agencies willing to give you huge grants to upgrade/replace/repair your heating if you're on benefits. For those of us with a job, but who are still struggling with heating bills, I'm finding there's no help out there. Does anyone know of anything? We've got night storage heaters in our one…
