Grants for heating when not on benefits

There seems to be a lot of agencies willing to give you huge grants to upgrade/replace/repair your heating if you're on benefits. For those of us with a job, but who are still struggling with heating bills, I'm finding there's no help out there. Does anyone know of anything?

We've got night storage heaters in our one bedroomed granny flat, which cost us last quarter during the summer when they were barely switched on - £700 a quarter!! (We don't have gas, so our electric bill does cover everything) We have made the decision to rip them out and install an oil fired combi boiler and lay pipes and put in radiators and are hoping the cost of all that will be recuperated by lower bills this winter (fingers crossed).

All grants out there for replacing heating systems or non-efficient or non-green heating all seem to be available only for people on benefits. I can't seem to find anything for people like me, who are just very skint! Any ideas??
