Hi,
can someone please tell me how air brickes at the bottom of houses are layed out,
we have some on the side of our semi detached house and some of the holes are blocked. we cant get a small screwdriver through them, it looks like somthing hard like cement is on the other side, but we never put that inside it must be there from before or when the house was built.
we can hit it with a hammer but i just want to know if there is a gap or somthing on the other side of the airbricks
thank you in advance

Air bricks are there to let the air circulate under the floors of the house... and should be clear on the other side.. but if you have a few I wouldn't worry if a few holes are blocked as long as some of them are clear the air will circulate...
Usually there is an airbrick on the outside then a gap then another airbrick on the inside... but some houses do not have a gap so it just depends on how the walls were built originally..#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

cool,
yeah i think there is a gap as the the screwdriver goes straight through in some holes, but in some it gets stuck so we had to clean it up.0
