Pilot light blowing out when its windy

Hiya,
Is there anything I can do to stop this, or at least reduce the number of times it does it (it really is constantly when it's windy). My boiler makes a right rackett every time it re-ignites and I should imagine it isn't good for Gas consumption. Also my Son's (he is 2) room is right next door and it always wakes him up!!
Thank s
Sarah

Hi
Have it looked at by a Corgi?

Thanks.
I did that and he tried to tell me it was the circuit board, I told him it only did it when it was windy, he went away to think about it and never called again haha!! I think I showed him up!!
I will have to try another one though!! Can't cope with that, when it gets windy again!!

Hi...what is the make and model of your boiler?

The Boiler is an IDEAL C24/C28
Not sure if this is a good boiler or not (it came with the house).
Any ideas??
Thanks for replying

Hi
I have a boiler of this make in a rented house. It was doing exactly the same thing. There were two problems (I am not a corgi engineer so will explain as best I can), firstly the vertical flue that went through the roof had partially come apart in the loft and the 2nd problem was there was some sort of seal inside the boiler and it had slipped so wasn't forming a perfect seal and condensation/water was trickling down. You could see the pilot light "baffling" as the corgi guy explained as though it was being blown by the wind. The engineer said the latter problem was fairly common. The boiler would always relite and it was an intermittent fault but nevertheless annoying for the tenants. It's never done it since it was repaired. It might be neither of these problems.
I hope this helps.0 -
I had this problem for years. Just a feature of the location of the flue which caused a downdraught when there was a strong wind in the East. Tried all sort of baffle arrangements but none of them worked. When I replaced the boiler I relocated it.0

Hi
Is this the boiler? http://www.idealboilers.com/docs/pdf/mini_manual.pdf
If so then could you clarify the problem. Are you saying that you can see the pilot light wavering about but the main burner is not lit?
My reason being, the fact that the boiler does not have a permanent pilot .When in demand the pilot will light and almost simultaneously the main burner lights. When turned off the burner and pilot go out.
I think you need a Corgi who is more familiar with fault finding . Or call Ideal and get them out.Ask to see CIPHE (Chartered Institute of Plumbing & Heating Engineering)0
