Luxpower monitoring why is this happening
I have just been looking at what my solar is up to on the luxpower monitor, and I see this. Why am I exporting at this point. Surely the battery should be providing any extra power required and that is all. Why am I exporting to the grid. Any ideas

Fit payments uniform everywhere...?
I've had solar panels for about 12 years and always been with Eon and everything has always run smoothly During that time we changed our gas/electric supplier several times to avoid being milked as a loyal customer... I had never considered changing FIT provider - is there a need to or do they all simply honour the…

Adding extra Solar Panels
March 2022 we installed a 4.4 kWh solar array our system is registered with Western Power G98, our system is south south west, we are considering and additional 3 kWh solar array to our north north west elevation, our roof has a 30 degree slope, we are assuming the north north elevation to be at least 30% less efficient,…

Solar Battery output/discharge rate
Can someone who is familiar with Givenergy answer this question please? If I understand correctly Givenergy Giv-Bat 5.2kwh has a discharge rate of 3kWh (51.2v x 60A = 3kWh) If I have 2 Givenergy Giv-Bat 5.2kwh paired, would the output/discharge rate be doubled to 6kWh, or it doesn't work like that? Reading the Givenergy…

2nd Solaredge battery cost
Does anybody have a rough idea of how much it would cost to have a 2nd Solaredge battery supplied and fitted to an existing Solaredge system? I guess question is to the installers here.

Inverter Output Higher than Panels and Inverter Spec
Our 3kWp panels were installed in 2011 and we had a 3000W SMA SunnyBoy inverter fitted as part of that. The output regularly reached 3000W over the summer months but never exceeded that. Our inverter failed in March and has now been replaced with a Growatt 3000TL. I've noticed on a number of occasions the output showing on…

EV + solar panels
We currently have solar panels and are on an octopus outgoing tariff. We pick up our EV this week. We will in the main be doing shorter journeys with the odd long one. I looked at EV tariffs but you can't have with outgoing. for those with both which do you find most beneficial.

Zero VAT on energy saving 'ancillary' works
Various energy saving things (solar panels, insulation...) currently attract zero VAT. This extends to ancillary things, such as batteries if installed at the same time as solar PV. Does anyone know, if I was to get integrated solar panels rather than on-roof panels, does the replacement of roof battens/membrane, which are…

Ballpark prices for solar panels.
I'm asking how long is a piece of string. We have explored how viable solar panels would be on a couple of occasions. Firms have advised, but we never purchased. Now we have had a reasonable five figure addition to our finances, which makes it likely doable. Our roof can take up to 16 panels it is claimed. We have no…

Project Solar Again
I know there are a number of threads on this topic but could not find a recent one. My husband called them unbeknown to me and I would have cancelled it if I had known it was Project Solar. The salesman said he would need a couple of hours at least, luckily we told the person who booked the appointment we only had an hour…

hi, I am hoping to get some advice as I started contacting solar panel installers last year and only just recently had 2 appointments. Eddi alternative?
Have been quoted £500 for installation of an eddi alongside our intended solar panel installation. Thinking about this, is there such a thing as an immersion switch which can be controlled by an app? Just thinking that it might be a cheaper option to run the hot water heating on a more manual system utilising cheaper gas…

Advice on whether to go Solar
Hi all, I am in the process of getting quotes for solar panels and it's hard to know whether to go ahead or not. I constantly think I will miss out on new technology, however I am missing out on savings. Some info on usage, I use 4600kW per year (est) and 2 people in a 4 bed house and both WFH. After some quotes, it is…
