Solax vs Libbi batteries
The Solax batteries "work with Octopus" but so does their inverter Surely if you have their inverter, it doesn't matter so much that their batteries work with Octopus? Libbi afaik doesn't. Am I correct in thinking that it doesn't matter as long as you've got an inverter that "works with Octopus"?

Hello, I have this new solar system installation, Givenergy and it seems to be sending to the grid all the time. The battery is 60% charged for example, right now, and it's still sending to the grid. I don't have a tariff of any kind yet so I am not making any money, I am just sending free stuff to the grid. Is there any…

Solar inverter over voltage reports.
I wondered if anyone else had come across this. Today I noticed a lot of alerts from one of my inverters and on digging into the data I see these are over voltage reports. The faults caused my inverter to shut down numerous times. Are these related to the grid voltage being too high or is it something to do with the…

smart export payments
By generating electricity, you’re making Britain greener. That’s because all the electricity you don’t use at home feeds into the national grid, contributing to the total amount of renewable power. You’re paid a set rate for this power through your Feed-in Tariff contract, based on an estimate that you export 50% of what…

Frequency of active electricity tariff changing?
My friend tells me that he knows someone who [actively] changes his tariff on a daily basis, possibly more frequently, in order to get the best rates for import and export of electricity. Can this be correct? I did not know that this was even possible. edited to add [actively]

Tumble dryer - efficiency label
So I've got an A+++-10% tumble dryer. Ie: a regular one would use 195 kWh (Based on 118 cycles) but this uses 10% less First of all, the newer labels are based on x kWh per 100 cycles which is much easier to deal with, compared to having to look at the product sheet, and working out your own usage that way Secondly, I've…

V2H and V2G
Inspired by a post from ASavvyBuyer listing a V2H charger (link below) on the domestic battery thread I thought it might be useful to have a separate thread for V2H as this technology now looks as though it is taking off. https://wallbox.com/en_uk/quasar-dc-charger I have expanded the scope of the thread to discuss V2G as…

Consider avoiding this firm
I should like to leave a review for Effective Home. We checked them on Trusted trader and they seemed okay. But we didn't read all the bad reviews. Before you choose Effective Home, read the one-star reviews. They took our money last summer, did one day's work, at the same time causing hundreds of pounds of damages, then…

Advice Needed Chasing Fraudulent ‘Teak Plantation’ Companies
My father invested £82,025 in three teak plantations and one bamboo plantation in Costa Rica between 2012 and 2014. This is on top of about £2million that he has lost due to investing in other ‘cold callers’ who, as far as we can gather, are also fraudulent organisations but getting ANY form of help from Police, FCA,…

PV Production Curve
This may or may not be of interest! Each year I'm fascinated how the PV production curve develops through the year and of course especially at this time of year when we see it improve quite dramatically.
