London gardening help!
Hi all! Hoping for some advice, having recently moved into a London flat with a garden in dire need need of some help, and I'm apologetically very new to the gardening game (but very much enjoying it)!. The front 'garden' is the usual tiny box that you see in most terraced rows, and is east facing so gets the early sun,…

Planter advice for a beginner
Hi I’m looking to put our house on the market in a month or so. I’m currently trying to dress up the exterior to make it more appealing. So I’m looking at cheap solutions for landscaping. I’ve had some planters made up to go under the windows. 5 in total. The ones that are made out of decking boards. They are about 40cm…

Thompson and Morgan - plants still not arrived
Ordered two lots of fruit bushes via Thompson and Morgan in early Feb when it a special offer appeared on the moneysavingexpert weekly email. Neither has arrived. Anyone else got theirs? Will I be entitled to cancel so I can buy elsewhere if it doesn't come soon? Their trustpilot reviews are absolutely appalling so I am…

Garden wall or fence it? Costs?
Hi all, new here! Have moved house 6 months ago and it's turning into a money pit!! We have 2 13ft 2m tall garden walls (single thickness with end pillars and one central) that are both on their way out along with a curved 1m long wall at the end of those. If I look at having the walls knocked down to the first 2-3 rows of…

Garden Must Haves
The recent posts on kneeler stools has got me thinking. What are your top gardening products or most used items that you wouldn't want to live without? Water feature or planter?
We have this decking next to our patio and the space between the two runs all the way under the bridge. We definitely want some form of water feature in the garden but it's not a large garden so we want to maximise the space. We need to tackle cleaning/repairing the decking, so it makes sense to plan to prepare that space…

Lawn problems
I scarified the lawn at the end of the summer/autumn and reseeded. It looks terrible. I've obviously done something wrong. There was a lot of thatch which I attempted to remove. What should I do to get a nice green lawn? Thanks. Here's a pic of it I took today. It looks even worse in the pic than in reality. :-(

Houseplant/s with fly infestation
I bought a couple of largish plants from ikea. I noticed a sudden influx of small black flies, which I didn't connect with the plants until a friend suggested what might be causing it. I got rid of both the plants, but what caused it.

How long to rotavate and rake?
So we’ve decided to revamp our back garden, it’s currently a giant weed patch. So we’ve decided to rotovate it, rake and level it out and the put down grass seed. I’d like to get it done in 1-2 days and just wondering if that’s realistic? Garden is 150m2, so not huge, but a decent sized area to do. Rotovate Rake out clumps…

Restoring a large polytunnel
Hi all I'm currently restoring a large (25ft X 15ft) polytunnel on my allotment. The tunnel was slightly damaged by fire during the previous owner tenancy. No serious damage to the frame which appears very sturdy, but all there is, IS the frame. I need to recover it and build a new set of doors for one end, the other end…
