Seasonal gardening reductions in stores
Thought this thread might be useful to others. Please post any seasonal reductions you spot.
For instance, approx 3 wèeks ago in £land , lots of shrubs and summer flowering bulb and plant packs were on sale at 50p.
I bought buddliea and deutzia....both doing well, also blueberry....no signs of life at all.
Today in ALDI I bought a large tub of hormone rooting powder for 50p, originally £1.99.
Stores like Aldi, Lidl, £stretcher, B+M , Asda etc clear out gardening items, it's just a case of timing, so if we can let each know when, and what to look for seems like a good idea.

My local B&M has plants reduced to 50p. Some were ok, but most looked very dead!0

Wilko is also worth a browse for sad & neglected plants any time.
Some are just dead but I've also resurrected some by a good overnight soak in a bucket of water then TLC for a while
PS, now the blue slug pellets are about to be banned there should be good reductions as stock is cleared
Make your own mind up about this and obviously use carefullyEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -

It's amazing how few slug pellets you actually need. I was brought up with "put a pile of them under a bit of plant pot" but now I might scatter, say, half a dozen pellets around a susceptible plant (usually new seedlings or tender young growth). My current tub of slug pellets must have lasted ten years. If I buy another in reserve I reckon it will see me out!0 -
Homebase are doing 4 for 3 online on shrubs etc. Pretty good prices. You'll find me in the garden. In the shed. In my greenhouses. Or maybe the local hostelry!0

Ok, Asda have kicked off with garden tools, plant pots and trays in seasonal sale. I only bought a pack of greenhouse glass clips half-price at 50p. There were secateurs, garden forks and spades, terracotta pots, fibre pots, plant sowing trays, propagaters . Mostly seemed to be half price.0
