Does anybody recognise this plant?
We've lived in this house 2.5 years and as far as I'm aware, we've had no flowers on whatever this is. About to start building work in this area, don't know whether to try and save it or not. It's quite vigorous, pushing up between a couple of paving slabs.

Wood chippings, free or very cheap?
I've just spent a merry couple of hours trying to find a source of free or very cheap wood chippings to make new paths on my allotment, and failed miserably. DD1's boyfriend, who lives 30 miles away, acquired a trailer-load delivered to his driveway for a mere £20 a couple of weeks ago; he brought me a couple of sacks,…

Deeply weird...
A friend gave me one of her Rugosa del Friuli knobbly courgettes at the end of last season; it had gone too hard to eat but, she said, might be good for seed this spring. I popped it on top of my boiler - an excellent spot for drying herbs & seeds & starting seedlings - and kind of forgot about it. Until now, when I need…

Why aren't green energy deals cheaper, given that the energy price hike is down to gas prices?
Genuinely, I have no idea why those of us who invest in green energy aren't getting a better deal. That should be the incentive for people to move to green - you're no longer beholden to gas prices. I haven't seen any discussion about this on TV or online for some reason. Answers on a postcard.

Where to buy from online?
I've always been reluctant to buy plants online but with garden centers now selling only new varities from the same supplier I'm being pushed making a garden from scratch. Looking for winter honeysuckle. Crocus.co.uk comes up. Also old roses. Are any companies more reliable for good plants than others?

Savings near Taunton, Somerset.
There's a plant nursery on the road between Taunton and Wellington, Somerset called Blackford Garden Centre. It's been taken over by a bigger company and full off fresh plants. As they are still stocking up from empty they are offering 20%off. Lots to see when it's done too. Although a good selection it's just a wider…
