I wonder if someone can tell me what this little beauty is. It is nestling amongst weeds and grass.

there's an app called obsidentify - you just take a photo of what it is you want to identify and it tells you what it thinks it is with a degree of probability.

Thank you. I spotted the foxglove. There are a few more young ones scattered about and 3 fully grown flowering. This is what prompted me to start clearing weeds and grass from this little patch in my garden. It is like a little cottage garden and I love it.

That sounds great! never sure when people use the term "weeds" whether anything not deliberately planted by them is viewed as such and rigorously eliminated! Hopefully the snapdragons will self seed in the patch as well...

I was told the definition of a weed is a plant growing in the wrong place.  So if you want a rough lawn then dandelions aren't weeds.  If you want a putting green a dandelion is a weed.

Makes you wonder why we spend so much time and money.
Aren't banks of dandelions just beautiful? And the insects just love them.
The hedgerows round exmoor have been just stunning in May with wild plants no one grows.

    Yep, it's definitely Antirrhinum majus.

Definition :  Definition from my old wildflowers of Britain book - "
Commonly known as snapdragons, these are easy-to-grow, old-fashioned cottage garden plants, beloved by children and bees."

    [Always 'wildflowers', never 'weeds'!]
