Small gardening club requires Public Liability insurance (Northern Ireland). Who? Where?
Getting a bit stuck on getting quotes for a small gardening group who'll be doing some fruit and veg growing on school property (with permission). For personal use only. But need insurance. We are based in County Down, Northern Ireland. I'm fed up looking. Anyone got any pointers please?

Fixing this lawn
Hi all, I'm a tenant and am looking for a cost effective way to fix this lawn. Would love to just have a nice flat lawn that the family (young kids) can run around on, have a picnic on etc. I'm really terrible at gardening so really need a step by step. There is so much weed, I tried digging it all up and have made a right…

£6k for garden Reno.. too much?
I have moved into my first home about 2 months ago. Thankfully the inside of the house is modern and not much needs doing in terms of DIY at all. The garden however is a tiny courtyard measuring 4x5 M at largest part and is paved and fenced in with no other additions or greenery. I have been quoted £6,100 to take down the…

Berries on our Bay Tree
Our bay tree, growing in a pot has a magnificent array of berries this year, first time ever in years of owning it. It’s also looking the best it has ever looked. Any explanations, please as to what we might have done to make it so lovely? Do berries indicate anything? It was given to us years ago by a relative, and…

Snowberry
I’ve been cutting out the dead laurel from our hedge. I suspect the bushes will need digging out but (a) that’s beyond me and (b) I’m hoping the roots are still alive and will throw up new shoots. however in the process of removing the dead stuff I have discovered that what I think is a snowberry is amazingly leggy -…

A garden restoration project (nothing fancy)
A long building project has just been completed but left its mark on my garden. Having cleared much of it away yesterday after the last of the rubble was removed, I can finally see what I am dealing with: It looks like I need to pick out any remaining building debris and stones before using the lawn mower, but what next?…

Hydrangea no flowers
Bought an Hydrangea plant last year with big white flowers. After winter it withered to nothing , just a few dried sticks sticking up from pot. Come springtime it sprouted fresh leaves from bottom and after watering well it is now back to a healthy looking bushy plant. No flowers though. I know that some Hydrangeas only…

Lawn Advice/Help Please?
The back lawn has become infested with a spreading thick tough leaved grass-like growth which of course, normal lawn weedkiller won't touch because it's a grass. I also have several ant nests patches which are bare. Plus a well-known lawn treatment firm has told me I have leather jackets. The whole lawn (I use the term…

Problem with mower.
Bosch Rotak 370 ER about 4 years old. I know when the grassbox is full as it leaves the cuttings on the lawn. However it has now started doing this when the grassbox is only one third full, presumably a loss of power somewhere. Any ideas on the cause - and hopefully remedy. .

Olive tree dead?
We’ve had an olive tree in the garden (In the South East) for about 7 years, last year it didn’t really flower (we had a few tiny green olives that weren’t worth using) and we cut it right back this spring when doing some work. It hasn’t flowered, or even grown any leaves at all, all summer. Is it dead? Or should we give…

Tall Daisy plant?
I am trying to find the name of a Daisy plant I remember from childhood. I always loved them and would love to grow some. They grew to about 2 ft ( maybe shorter but as a child everything seems bigger!) and they were on very firm tall stalks that had ridges up them. The heads were big white Daisies with yellow centres.…

What is this growing in my lawn? Is it poisonous to dogs?
As the title says, what is this? I have lots of different mushrooms growing in my lawn, probably 10 different sorts, is this another one? Is it poisonous to dogs, as we have two stupid dogs who would eat this given half a chance. Thanks

Spray and leave weed killer/preventer
We’ve got a block paved driveway and trees either side that drops seeds etc onto it (plus birds in the trees drooping things from their beaks) and results in weed and grass growth between the blocks and down the side of our fence. Is there anything recommended I can just spray on and leave regularly that will prevent…

Can You Sell Wood From a Fallen Tree in your own Garden?
Hi.My mother has a very large and very old mulberry tree in her garden. Last week, about half of it fell clean off. Mercifully no-one was under it (it happened at night) and no damage was done. But it's been estimated there's at least a couple of tons of wood in the broken section. Does anyone know if we are allowed to…
