How do you find out whatever it is you need to find out for you to go self employed? Specifically as a driver, in case it makes a difference. Again if it makes a difference then as a HGV driver (I'm not asking if you need to get a HGV licence or need to do your CPC etc - that's all taken care of). I've no idea what…

Company Sick Pay reset after Mat leave?
Hi, I returned from Maternity leave in June, reducing my hours from 4 to 3 days and I signed a new contract. Today I have called in sick. Looks like despite working at the company for 7 years I am now not entitled to company sick pay for 6 months from signing the new contract. Is this correct?

Starting Off Contracting.
Been a employee all my life, most of which were at a single employer, where I have a fair amount of domain experience. Legalities of creating and advertising a new role
A new layer of management is being created in my place of work. It feels very much that one person is intended to get the job. This person has been involved in creating the role, drafting the job description, and obviously knew about it long before any other potential candidates, giving them the chance to have been sliming…

Is this NHS increment date correct?
I'm asking this on behalf of a family member as she (or me) can't find a conclusive answer. In the last month, she has moved from a band 4 role to a band 5 role. She joined the NHS in October 2008 and the increment date on recent payslips was "10 Oct 2012". This is 4 years after she started. She only has payslips for the…
