Utilities - switch not simple!
I recently changed from Scottish Power to NPower via https://www.switchnsave.com in March this year in an attempt to reduce my direct debit charges which had increased by over £20.00 a month for a dual account. It has actually become a right nusiance because the electricity account has been messed up and it has not been a…

Do ex smokers REALLY save money?
Am thinking about how much i spend each month on smoking. I've saved a bit by switching to rolling my own (well with a machine) once i get home but still spend about £60 - £70 a month on packet cigarettes, tobacco and papers.... Thing is, do people who give up really save the money? Or does it just get spent on something…

Default Notice Question
I was wondering if default notices have to be renewed by creditors. The reason I ask is because a year ago I was served with one by Natwest on my Visa card. This was not a problem as I had just registered with the CCCS who then set up my DMP and included this card. Natwest accepted the arrangement and I have been paying…

Well I finally came clean!
I told 4 of my closest friends at the weekend about my debt. They didn't understand as each of them is excellent with managing money and none of them have ever paid interest on a credit card or struggled to get out of overdraft. But I feel so much better for being open about things. Plus I told them about this forum and…

Anyone heard of Eurodebt?
They rang saying they can clear debts in 12 months and all they do is send a Financial Advisor, who works out a plan and they reduce the interest etc when getting in touch with creditors. Now this sounds far to good to be true, its a free service but there must be a catch. Would it effect my credit rating?

Making real (easy) cash with Pigsback - info & guide
Hi all. I know there is already a thread on pigsback in the freebies board which has been brilliant, but I just wanted to let the posters in DFW know that there is a way of recieving cheques though pigsback, rather than vouchers (which lets face it will stretch further). Basically all you need to join pigsback is an email…

Payplan support running out ?
Hi there, I wonder if anyone else has come across this ? I have debts of about 70k which I am paying off through a debt reduction plan with Payplan. However, when I took this out Payplan stated that because the debt would take a long time to pay off they would only support us for 12 months. That 12 months is almost up, and…
