Hi All Old diary is here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=1000559 I can't do the posh linky things.

Things are all changing in the Lucielle household. DS1 arrived back from New Zealand and has moved out to start his new job. Spent most of last week building flat pack furniture from the well known store. DD1 starts her daytime lambing job before progressing onto lambing job number 2 which is nights. DS2 is still doing his apprenticeship and just bought a new to him car. DD2 is just coming to the end of her lambing job and is then back to college.

Our debt has crept up again, mainly through helping kids with their insurance, which they will pay back. Currently its at 14k, not great but doable. It hasn't helped that I needed new glasses and DS1 took his washing machine back so had to purchase a new one.

I have also just finished at my job of 9 years and aim to work with OH and develop our business further. Watch this space.

Also to add to our woes, last year our beloved pick-up needed replacing, poor Morris Mazda had to go as he was getting uneconomical to repair he had clocked up an impressive 155k but had a tough life.

OH decided he didn't want another pick-up but did need something capable of pulling a very large trailer (one that can take 4 ride-on lawn mowers and a couple of pedestrians). We stumbled across the Mercedes ML320. Our farmer next door has one which he tows his cattle trailer with. A quick trip up to Edinburgh saw us procure this fine vehicle. It needed a towbar on which we had fitted by an expert and all was well with the world. OH loved it, we all loved it. Anyway last week OH thought it was making a bit of noise and the trailer needed a service. Whilst moving DS1 the trailer was put onto his pick-up at which OH discovered the towbar was coming off. Not to worry probably a bolt had sheared off.

Fast forward to Monday. Not only had the bolt sheared off it looks like the chassis is heading in the same direction! No chance of fitting the towbar somewhere else or welding it as it wouldn't hold. After a bit of wailing and head scratching we have made the decision to sell it. Its fine to drive just not pull a trailer.

OH is buying DS1s Discovery off him as he's got a works vehicle and is going to trundle round in that. This tank has got more lights on the dash than Blackpool illuminations, so that's going to be a work in progress. When we ever retire we can look at getting a merc again.

Just been and got the number plate made up for the trailer, had my eyebrows threaded as they were getting a life of their own and OH and DS2 got their hair cut.

Spent last night getting train tickets for London at the end of April £74 return (shhh first class both ways, yippee)

Just managed to make a small saving so sitting in the smug zone. I had cover fro 3 of my appliances which was £23.99 per month. I have revised the plan and it now comes in at £15 per month. Only a small saving but it all helps
