Navmii Android Satnav problems
HI All, I'm hoping MSEr's may be able to help me out. I'm off to the US for a wedding shortly and was planning to use navmii gps satnav on phone. On previous trip a few years ago I used it's predecessor(?) Navfree which worked well. My problem is that I've been running a test on Navmii for a couple of weeks in the Uk and…

Any idea why my phone always thinks the SIM card has been removed
My HTC phone is away being fixed at the moment, and I am having to use my old handset in the meantime. It is a Samsung Galaxy S4, and I am now remembering why I was so desperate to get rid of it at last upgrade time! At least 10 times a day (not a word of exaggeration), it tells me that the SIM card has been removed and…

Humax satellite boxes.
So we are going to leave Sky soon and switch to a Humax box. Lots of secondhand ones around, 1100s and 1010s 1TB seem to be what we want. So is the 1100s a later version of 1010s and do all the 1010s boxes have Freetime or just the later ones as it does not appear in all the pics and details?

Laptop still recognises old broadband connection
Hi AVG comes up with a warning that my old (plusnet) broadband connection is unsecured. I changed to BT over a month ago and I'm wondering why this is happening. I've asked my neighbours and no-one nearby uses Plusnet. Is it because BT own Plusnet? Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way to wipe previous broadband…

Does your Google Chrome browser look different today?

Android app - viewers logic
Not sure which sub-forum to post this in but there is an android app being advertised all over Facebook at the moment offering £5 a month to monitor your TV viewing habits. It is called viewers logic. During installation it requires permission to access several features which make me uneasy. Ability to make telephone calls…

Calling All Website Owners
You will have implemented the absurd, pointless EU "This site uses cookies" notice on your website. May I suggest we all lobby the UK Information Commissioner's Office suggesting they abolish the UK implementation of this bit of EU nonsense the day we leave the EU? This is the UK version of the cookie rule and this is the…

Powerline Network Adaptors
Just wondering if anyone has experience of using anything like this If I'm not mistaken they didn't have a great reputation in the past, and still don't seem particularly cheap (even at sale price!).

Table lamp - fuse keeps blowing
I am not sure if it's the right section where to post this so I apologise if it's not and hopefully a mod will move it to the right one. Basically I had to replace 3 table lamps already because they just stop working. Replacing the light bulbs doesn't help. With the 3rd one I realised it was the fuse that had blown. I…

Text on websites look rubbish
Hi guys I have just gone onto my dads PC to sort a few things. I have noticed when on websites, the text looks a bit crap. I assumed it was the display drivers, so I installed the latest display drivers for the card. Any other suggestions? I have took a snapshot below:

iPhone 6 messenger problem
Hi all I am hoping someone can help. My daughter has an iPhone 6s and has always used Messenger to chat to her friends. All of a sudden, instead of having the blue "lightning" symbol next to her name (which shows her as being online), she now has the grey "f" symbol, which I believe is an offline facebook symbol. Her…

Garmin 56 satnav jammed
Plugged it into laptop to update maps, That's when the trouble started. Thinking of getting homeplugs but..
I need to install one downstairs connected to the router & the other upstairs for the boys xbox to stop him sucking the life out of the wifi. Upstairs has a different "trip" on the breaker box than downstairs so I'm thinking they are different circuits... if so homeplugs wouldn't work would they?

iOS 10 not updating
I want to update my iPhone 6s Plus through iTunes on Win7. I always do it this way, as there can be problems doing it over the air. To update to 10.0.1, I have to update to iTunes 12.5.1. No matter how many times I press the download iTunes button, it won't update. Any idea how to force it to update? I have never had a…
