Chrome appears to be using a different, smaller font and more https emphasis in the url bar. Has Chrome changed today for you too?
Nothing on Twitter been mentioned, and the version I have 53.0.2785.116 doesn't appear to be a be a version - v54 etc.
Strangely even simple searches for keywords seem to result in Chrome crossing out and flipping between https.
Maybe it's my extensions I have on Google causing the error?

I have noticed one or two slight changes.
There's now an exclamation mark, inside a circle, to the left of the web address, in the address bar. Clicking it, shows the web address, cookies and permissions.
Also, the three horizontal bars, for the menu that lets you zoom, print, find etc. is now three dots, and the Home Page icon is simpler and less stylised than I remember it.0 -
It's been like that for a while now. Thing that really peeved me was the fact they've disabled the back (backspace) button. Not such an issue when using a mouse but a real pain in the backside when just using my laptop keyboard and I want a quick one button to go back to the previous page.0

Version 53.0.2785.116 m (64-bit)
That's what mines says, and says that it is up to date. (The update applied a few days ago, and yes - the font and other changes appeared. No other issues for me though).0 -

Doesn't have to be a version as such for design changes to be implemented.0 -

Extension now required https://tech.slashdot.org/story/16/08/19/1936231/google-restores-backspace-functionality-to-chrome-with-an-add-on?sdsrc=rel0 -

Yes when logging in to a secure site the name of the website suchas your bank is no longer a green block, just green writing on a white background making it very difficult to see.0 -

I hadn't actually noticed that as I rarely if ever use BACKSPACE as the Back button - I have a mouse gestures extension and always use that.0
