This latest windows 10 update is causing a problem on the following pc. HP Stream notebook, intel cpu N3050 @ 1.60ghz. 2.00 GB Ram.
32 GB Hard Drive.
Ok, so I know its a cheap pc, with only 32 GB drive, but their isn't much else on the drive taking up space.
This update can't complete, telling me its needs a further 5 GB.
So, what can I safely delete from this pc, to get this update to finish.
PC is used only for internet browsing, doesn't even have I tunes on it.
Your thoughts please.

is it asking for 5Gb of more memory or 5Gb of more Hard drive space?0

Disk space of course. Easiest to run a clean install using Windows 10 media.0

I have a HP Stream 11 with an added 32 GB SD card, and, before I could get the Windows 10 Anniversary Update to, well, update, I had to do
- Disk Cleanup ticking all options, including removing the System Files
- turn off Hibernate (which removes hiberfil.sys)
- remove all Restore Points (greatly daring...)

Still need more space.
I have run disk clean up, all options.
How do I turn off Hibernate mode?
How do I clear the restore points?
Thanks0 -
1) Go into a Command Prompt window and type powercfg /h off
then type Exit and press Enter to leave
2) Hold down the Windows key and press R;
type Control Panel in the box and press OK;
click on the System icon;
click on System protection at the top left;
in the Protection settings box, click on the C: drive, then on the Configure button;
at the bottom right click on the Delete button;
keep pressing OK to leave0 -
I don't know why they do these machines with so little storage.0

I don't know why they do these machines with so little storage.
It's all to do with how much Microsoft charges the OEM for a Windows licence based on the hardware spec.
If the screen, RAM and storage is below a certain size then they get Windows for free or deeply discounted, they started this to counter the threat from cheap Linux netbooks. So blame Microsoft for distorting the market and tiered price gouging.

At least they are better than the ghastly Windows 7 Starter Edition netbooks of old, which had low screen resolution and size, small keyboard and badly underpowered CPU. What they have in common is no optical drive, small RAM size and little 'hard disk' capacity.
Fortunately I got my HP Stream 11 for £79 in Tesco!0 -

Indeed, the later SoC's Z-8500 (and above) does support dual channel RAM but sadly you virtually never see it configured that way thus knee capping it's graphics bandwidth capabilities. Additionally the Z-8300 isn't supposed to support greater than 2gb RAM according to Intel but there are reports to the contrary:

A pity isn't it that capability is being wasted.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0
