Windows 10 update, not enough memory

I've got a Lenovo Miix3 2 in 1 which has a similar basic spec. When I moved up from Win 8.1 to 10 the install failed due to lack of storage space until I directed the process to a 64 g/b micro sd card as a location to use. The inbuilt 32 g/b is insufficient to do the update - additional storage via a micro sd card is essential.
With the Anniversary update in July it was a straightforward process which went through without any intervention, but, as stated above, it is a lack of storage space (or failure to allocate the location of that space) that is causing the problem not a lack of memory.0 -
I got an update this morning which took ages. Now, when I do a Google search and start reading whatever it is, it suddenly goes into a black page. So annoying. I have a Lenovo Yoga2.0

Seems ok when I use a different search engine for some reason.0 -

If the screen, RAM and storage is below a certain size then they get Windows for free or deeply discounted, they started this to counter the threat from cheap Linux netbooks. So blame Microsoft for distorting the market and tiered price gouging.

You update these small HDD machines by downloading the updates onto an external drive and then using that to update the main OS.0
