recommendations for external hard drive
any recommendations for an external hard drive to back up my data (having lost two, non-backed up hard drives in as many years I've finally learned my lesson). Not a lot of data, mostly photos. I've got a 250MB hard drive in a Dell laptop, if that makes any difference. Is external storage better/safer/easier to recover…

Have just had a catastrophic hard drive failure in my Dell laptop. A friend who knows his way round computers and has enough kit to do some investigation of the drive says the following: "It looks like the partitions on the drive are corrupted. So badly in fact I can only see one of them. One is called ‘Recovery’ which is…

Laptop or something else?
Hi, My mum has asked for a laptop for Christmas to listen to Spotify on. Apart from that, all she would be doing is checking email and a bit of web surfing. I'm thinking a laptop might be overkill and maybe a netbook would be sufficient. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Epson printers - compatible cartridges invalidate warranty?
I've had an Epson inkjet since February this year. Have replaced all the colour cartridges with compatible ones and they've been fine. When it came to the black, they won't work. Have tried two different ones now and neither will work. I'm really loath to shell out £17 for a genuine Epson one to try. Obviously I'm still…
