Poor Volume Control

I have a Pure DMX-50 which is basically new been stored for 4-5 years I pulled it out the shed today have updated software etc but The volume is always low; (0-32 on scale) at 0 it has no volume, at 1 on the scale you can hear it, 1-32 there is no increase in volume.
Any thoughts on a cheap easy fix?
