Ive got a Sony internet TV, it needs either a hardwired LAN or a wireless LAN via a usb dongle (UWA-BR100) that I dont have. As crimble is round the corner, I thought that I might get a wireless dongle they're about £50 odd on eBay about the same as a pair of homeplugs.
Anyway whatever way I decide to connect it to my network, I was wondering if anyone has connected their Sony TV to the internet services provided, by all accounts iPlayer is possible (TBH thats probably the only thing I'd use anyway), but I was wondering what its like to use without a keyboard etc, how do you navigate and select something to watch and search, usability etc.
Can anyone shed any light?

We just bought a Sony Bravia internet enabled TV and the iPlayer is great. Navigation is made relatively easy, although 'typing' text if you want to search is a little painful.
If you have an iPhone you can also download an app that allows you to control the TV through that and then typing in YouTube becomes a more pleasant experience (with the iPlayer you still have to use the onscreen select a letter type keyboard).0 -
Rather than use the Sony dongle (seemed expensive), we hard wired out TV using homeplugs [TP-LINK AV200 Mini Powerline Adapter] to our internet router (which is upstairs). Works a treat!
Also added a TP-LINK 5 port 10/100Mbps Desktop Switch downstairs so that the TV, Surround Sound System and Sky+ box feed into the homeplug then upstairs to the router.0
