Any Views on Archos

Hi

Does anyone have any views on Archos products? My son wants a ipod touch however I am relictant to buy him one as he is only 9 have been looking at either Archos 32 or 50b but dont know which to go for or if there is anything simillar to a ipod on the market. All views are much appreicated

I had an archos as my main device for 3+ years and only had one problem with it (the power button got lodged inside it, sent it back and they repaired it no problems), decent player but it's a nightmare getting accessories for it (speaker docks, cases) - much cheaper than an ipod though generally speaking.

My mum has an Archos and as far as i know she's never had problems... Although if a 9 year old asks for an iPod Touch it's probably an iPod Touch they want and not an alterative as all their mates will have one.

Thanks which one does she have? Was thinking of a Archos as a nine yr old and a ipod arent a good mix especially when he never sits still

It was the 605 wifi - which has long been discontinued, with good reason as compared to models of today it wouldn't fare well! A lot of their stuff now runs on Android (free apps!) but i've not really paid any attention to any reviews or any solid information on them since i bought mine back in 2007ish.
