Can anyone tell me what the difference between The A and B type of bt home hub 3 is.
I recently had bt infinity connected to our property and find that the wireless connection is quiet weak on our laptops when used in some rooms (main rooms of house). After complaining to bt they have sent me a new hub 3 A type where as the original is B type. I have found no performance differance in signal so have reconnected the B type so as not to have to set up all the family laptops again. I think the answer to the signal problem would be to move the phone socket (main) to the hallway which is a central position in the property though bt say this will cost me £130. But I would still like to know what the differnce between A and B is.
Can anyone help.

try and identify the problem first....download and run inSSider on one of your wifi laptops - this will show you if your router's wifi is getting interference from another in your vicinity. Use this info to then change the wifi channel yours is operating on for minimum interference...you may well find then that your wifi isn't a problem.

on the lappy you run it on, disconnect from your wifi network (but leave the wifi physically switched on - inssider uses the lappy's wifi card to scan for and receive the signals from nearby routers), and even move it around the house to the other rooms you are trying to use wifi in. For example, you may find no interfering channels when in the same room as your router, but upstairs you may pick up interference.......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0
