free photo editing software?
was wondering if there was any free software out there which i could use to lighten some photots? they were taken at a party, and no one put the flash on so they are a bit dark. some of them are great shots and it would be a shame to waste them.

Computer monitor has died a death
My TFT monitor was left switched on and unattended for a couple of hours (usual practise, it has powersave) and on return it was totally lifeless. Changed the fuse - still no injection of life. My depth of knowledge has now been exhausted. Help, please. JD
