Hi
My mothers computer is up the swanny i went round to have a look tonight and the problem is it wont boot up its trying to boot from the floppy disk drive.I have tried f8 on start up and i only get the option to boot from floppy or network!
Now my mother is a bit of a fidler when things go wrong but all she has said is she was getting warnings before it went wrong of some sort of overloading.
thats all the info i have any ideas?

Check in the bios to make sure the hard disk is listed in the boot order, if it is, take the cover off and check the leads connected to the hard disk, and see if you can feel the hard disk spinning.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

I always thought if it beeped on startup hard disk was working and it does0

A beep normally means it has passed a set of checks, but i don't think a hard drive is part of those checks.
If you don't want to open it up somewhere in the bios it should indicate what hard drives are detected. Have a look and see if you can find it in there.Ever stop to think and forget to start again?0 -
The delete button on mine gets you into the bios so you can change boot order etc. On the one I had before it was F2.0
