Computer monitor has died a death

My TFT monitor was left switched on and unattended for a couple of hours (usual practise, it has powersave) and on return it was totally lifeless. Changed the fuse - still no injection of life. My depth of knowledge has now been exhausted. Help, please.

you sure it's the monitor and not the graphics card on the PC ??

I take it there are no lights on at all ??

possible there is a "on board" fuse in the TFT , but this will involve you opening it up to see

    normally see through glass type

    Hi Browntoa

I do not know if it is the gaphics card. Wouldn't know where to start.

There are no lights on the tft.

I will see if I can check that there is an onboard fuse on the monitor.

Thanks for your help I am a complete novice.

Does the monitor have an external brick transformer?

If the plug fuse is ok, and any internal quick blow fuse is ok, it's probably going to be cheaper to buy a new one, unfortunately. Assuming that there are no lights on it at all. Is it under warranty?

    Hi Albert

Thanks again - will not be able to check the onboard fuse till tommorow, if I can locate it.
