Euro1net have cut off all there broaband customers and you can not migrate for 1 maybe 2 weeks.
My dell computer does not have a dial up modem so i can not use it for dial up.
Can you buy a dial up modem which i can connect to the lead so i can get dial up through my dell computer ?

sorry to hear about you getting cut offEver stop to think and forget to start again?0 -
It is a nightmare
Any ideas how much a modem would cost and can you buy them off the shelf ?0 -
you can buy them from PC World for a 10er upwards, also any local pc shop should sell them.Ever stop to think and forget to start again?0

Also, because of the way this Euro1Net situation has occured. You have had a cease put on your line. You will have to wait till Sept 5th, then signup to another company as a new customer, you will not be able to migrate to another ISP. Depending what ISP you choose, this may mean you incur a sign on fee.How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

There are probably milliions of modems stuck on peoples shelves, as they don't need them anymore since the advent of broadband.. do you have any friends that might have one. Are you sure the dell doesn't have one built-in.

Certain the dell does not have one as it took me a long time to realise why dial up would not work.As i was looking for the dell support number on invoice i noticed no modem on list.I thought all computers came with built in dial up modems.0 -
Newer, or cheaper ones might not have them I suppose, but when you say you wondered why dial-up didn't work, does that mean that you have a hole for the cable in the case?Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0
-
Newer computer,a hole where the lead seemed to fit but as soon as it was connected it killed the phone line0
-
If it was a tight fit, it was probably a modem. If not, it may be an ethernet connection
If it is a modem, it should be listed in start run devmgmt.msc

yeah all dells come without a modem as standard for a couple years now.0
