Nationwide PPI & Redundancy
Back in 2005 I took out a personal loan with Nationwide and was mis-sold PPI. In 2007 I was made redundant. After the sale of my house I paid a settlement on the loan to close the account (i.e. not in full) as I didn't realise that I had PPI and could have claimed it through that insurance. I spoke to Nationwide directly…

Should I accept the offer?
Hi, I wrote to Black Horse about 18mths ago for a PPI claim on car finance and it was declined. After going to the F.Ombudsman, I've been offered £1128.40. £928.40 from the PPI and £200 compensation. The original cost of the PPI was £995.45. I made 13 repayments of 60 as closed the loan early. I paid £413.42. Interest was…

Barclays wrote to me this week saying my rejected PPI application has been reopened and have asked me to provide employment status the time the loan was taken out, and anything else I can remember when the bank sold me the loan in branch. When I took the loan I had signed a contracted to start my graduate job on 21 August…

I tired to reclaim the PPI on my Halifax Visa card back in 2012 and it was turned down, however I received a phone call about 5 weeks ago to say that they were reassessing claims and they needed to ask a few questions, so I provided the information that she requested and promptly forgot all about it because I didn't think…

Hello, I am new to the forums here, and I have some queries. I may have been silly but I never followed through the CPP claim process after I received the documents. It was fear I suppose, I now think I am too late, however any advice would be great. I have all the correspondence from CPP and my policy began in 2007, it…

PPI claim on behalf of a relative
Hi, A close relative of mine was planning on signing up with a PPI claim service but I'd read that it is easy to do it yourself so I begged them to let me do it for them instead. A few weeks later all I've managed to do is a bit of research here and there and get a bit confused. They don't know whether they have definately…

Interesting telephone conversation with YB
I had been a little tardy getting my YB Visa card payment away last month because of work committments, which I accept, I'd missed the cut off day by a day or so and hold my hand up too. I got a phone call this morning from YB making me aware I missed the date and the consequences of that, fair enough I thought. Then the…

PPI, GE Money, and how to ignore the 8 week "rule".
I sent what I thought was all necessary documentation to GE Money when making a complaint re mis selling of PPI on a personal loan. GE Money acknowledged the letter etc and told me they would complete their investigations within 8 weeks. So far so good. 2 days before the 8 weeks ran out I had a letter from GE. As the loan…

Rejected claim 1 year ago
Hi, I had a claim rejected last year by clydesdale. I absolutely should have taken it to the ombudsman, but was preparing credit file for mortgage and moving job and... didn't happen. Is there a way for me to reopen this or has this run its course now? Could kick myself, but life took over.
