Hi all,
My husband was contacted by halifax regarding his PPI credit card claim from 2013 which was refused saying they wished to Re-open the case.
He has since had discussions with them regarding their mis - selling of this PPI and today has had a refusal letter from them. Again! They state in the letter that he has no right to take further to FOS as he didn't do so after the last rejection back in 2013. I would argue that as they have re-opened the claim that he now has a further 6 months to take it to FOS. Would you agree?

No. The rules are black and white. He has six months from the date the final decision letter is issued to take it to FOS. If they decide to re-review the outcome off their own back that's up to them but it does not bestow further FOS rights.0 -

No. The rules do not support your view.
A reviewed case means that they have checked the case to a higher standard than they did before and have come to the same outcome. So, the original dates apply. Just because they review the case does not give you a new 6 month period.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
