West Coast Train
Now don't shoot me down :) please. I might very well be in the wrong here. I recently travelled to London with my daughters dace school to visit pineapple studios..great day, thoroughly enjoyed it. I travelled on train, and as I'm a miserable bu!!er I took my laptop. (-wanted to enter competitions on the route down.) I…

Gas Rip Off
I have just moved into a property and it has a prepayment meter installed. Now beyond the 26 pence a day I have to pay weather I use any energy or not, the gas is a rip off. I put my central heating on for an hour and it took nearly £1 worth of credit off the gas meter. How are people supposed to be able to keep warm in…

Warning: Amazon Prime Membership increasing to £79
Just had the email from Amazon. From tomorrow they are adding streaming services to the Prime membership. Will be free until next renewal but then price for Prime will be £79. I don't watch that much TV so wouldn't use the streaming service and £79 is a bit steep just for free next day delivery so I've set my membership to…

Argos website&customer services
I wouldn't be surprised if Argos start to lose profits soon if my experiences trying to buy from their website is an indicator of how shoddily they operate in general. On two occasions over he last two months I have abandoned large online orders with Argos because their website won't allow me to log in and complete my…

Tips, gravity, 'optional' service charge
Does anyone else get annoyed when waiters chase after you for that extra 20p - £1 on the unpaid bill but what is actually part of the ‘optional’ service charge! I’ve noticed it in Chinatown a lot where they want their extra 20p for grumpy service, mediocre lukewarm food. I have happily given tips >10-12% in places but I am…

*PRAISE* Branston Baked Beans
Following on from a seperate topic a few weeks ago I took somebodys advice and replaced Heinz Beans with Branston Beans. I have to say what great advice it turned out to be. Not only could I pick up 3 tins for £1 at ASDA instead of 4 tins of Heinz at £2, they actually taste a hell of a lot better too. The sauce is really…

Shops closing early and locking the doors!
Really annoys me. Happened at the weekend at Plumbase. 20 mins before closing time door was locked. People sitting inside. Shouted out 'hes gone home we're closed'. Plenty of people out there who want jobs and don't want to skive off early. I can't do it in my job.

Tescos newest policy
Over this last couple of weeks, after hovering to scoop up the left over bread, and halfprice meat, I've been dissapointed. Today I caught the human operative scooping ALL the bread off the shelves into pink "unfit for human consumption" bags. I asked him what it had done wrong, and the reply was .... "today is sell by…

An O2 warning
Just a little heads up. If you are leaving O2 and they promise you they have definitely cancelled your account and everything is absolutely complete, don't believe them!!!!!! Another £65.36 has mysteriously left my bank account and made it's way over to O2's. What a coinky-dink. Quite lucky I checked before I went to do…

Website design scam!!
This is a warning to anyone looking to have a website built for any purpose. I have been the unfortunate victim of a criminal scam. I paid this individual £180 and was provided with an invoice. I was then met with a wall of silence despite numerous attempts to contact the person. I have since had to go down the…

T-MOBILE lie/Scam/bullcrap/misleading poop, whatever
Whatever you want to call it, T-mobile sent a text to my PAYG phone yesterday, and said if I top up with a FIVER within the next FIVE DAYS, I will get a FIVER free credit. 'Terms apply' But of course, not a mention of what the 'terms' are. So I had two pounds credit left this morning, and I bought a fiver's worth of credit…

iflorist.co.uk ruins Valentine's Day
On Wednesday 12th February I checked out the Valentine's Day deals for couriered flowers on MSE. I saw a few suitable suppliers, but eventually settled on iflorist, after checking photos on their website...not necessarily the cheapest, but what appeared to be really good quality roses. Ordered on their website and entered…

Nationwide Travel Insurance: good service
There have been some horror stories posted about travel insurance... and in any case, when something is free I expect it not to be much good, since "you get what you pay for". Anyway, I recently had to make a claim on the free travel insurance that comes with the Flex account. My claim was handled politely and…

Debenhams online
Ordered a jacket online on Sunday, delivery quoted as 4 working days. Tried to track order on their online tracking system and constantly got 'unable to process at this time, please try later' response. Telephoned this evening to be told that the order had been cancelled due to lack of stock. Fair enough, but my gripe is…

Barbour, your website is useless.
I know this is completely a first-world problem, but... a) What website, in the twenty-first century, for a major brand with stores in multiple countries, does not deliver overseas? In the drop-down menu for both delivery and billing, you are forced to select UK, with there being no overseas options available. b) Why do…

Profiteering council run facility vent
Every afternoon at 2 I go to my local leisure centre to swim. It normally costs £2.80. (OAP price) After 3 pm it costs £3.10. Today at 2 pm it cost £3.10. On enquiring why the price had increased I was informed, because the kids are on holiday because of an in service day at the local schools. There were no notices…

Praise for Igenix but not for e4electricals
I bought a heater about a year ago from e4electricals.com because the company had good reviews and the price was the best I could find. I can't fault them for their original service in sending out the heater but their customer service now leaves much to be desired. The heater recently started to emit a burning smell…
